Enabling a growing number of people in Africa
to bridge the housing affordability gap
and step on the Home Ownership ladder
Since 2008, we at Chartwell have been dedicated to enabling a growing number of people in Africa to bridge the affordability gap and step onto the Home Ownership ladder.
Driven by our desire to assist as many people as possible to become Home Owners and avoid the pitfalls associated with renting a home, we partnered with one of the largest global real estate investors to achieve our vision.
Chartwell has innovated home loan products that reduce the cost of Home Ownership and ensure that aspirant and deserving Home Owners are afforded every opportunity of making this important step to owning a home. Our application process is personal, easy and friendly. It includes helpful and informative education programmes designed to assist our Home Owners’ budget wisely and better understand their financial commitments.
Chartwell is a member of the South African Credit and Risk Reporting Association (Previously known as the Credit Providers Association) and our Emerging Market Home Loan Fund is registered with the National Credit regulator.
Chartwell provides the following services:
Employer assisted housing
Our team has the experience and expertise to help employers design and implement employee homeownership schemes that are financially and socially sustainable and offer maximum benefits to both employer and employee. We can also help structure and raise the optimal mix of third-party funding to help employers provide home loans to their employees.
Chartwell’s experienced project finance team can assist you in the development of comprehensive feasibility studies and the raising of the optimal mix of funding for your project. This includes the raising of equity finance, to allow the project to progress from inception to the roll-out of the development, and take-out funding to ensure your project’s ultimate success. Chartwell’s expertise also extends to the raising of infrastructure finance, which includes the structuring of public-private partnerships with local and national governments.
